M is for Man, Music, Mozart was composed by Louis Andriessen for a video film by Peter Greenaway. It’s a work for female jazz singer and ensemble and premiered in 1991. The film was commissioned by the BBC to mark the Mozart bicentenary in 1991. For this commission composers were invited to choose a director to make an ‘alternative homage’ to Mozart.
