An episode of a documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 (by Michael Moore, 2004), depicting people’s reactions to the collapsed Twin Towers of the World Trade Center against Pärt’s Cantus (excerpt with music 03:20–06:35).
Interestingly enough, Pärt’s tintinnabuli pieces pass from film to film, somehow always appearing at moments of a moral or emotional crisis or even of a catastrophy. At such moments Pärt’s music seems to freeze the time and adds a transcendental measure to the situation, as if looking at things from a distant and more objective point of view.
